A link up allows other sites to add a link to their site pertaining to the specific subject. For example, on Wednesdays I have a blog giveaway link up. Here, other blogs can add their giveaways to the list.
Link ups are helpful to the readers because they can easily find lots of information from various blogs or sites all in one place.
