I have had my iphone for about a year now. I use it not only as a phone, but also as entertainment for the kids. It has come in handy waiting for doctors appointments or other things. Usually I just download free apps. You can easily search iTunes for free kids apps. Some are good, some aren’t so great.
I just found out about My Living Stories, iphone apps for kids.
My Living Stories are animated storybooks that bring new and classic children’s tales to life on your iPhone™ or iPod® Touch. My Living Stories apps have both cute interactive, illustrations and read along stories. Kids can read the stores alone, or with help from the pre-recorded narration. But, here’s the really cool part… you can record your own voice reading the stories!
Interactive sounds and animation bring stories to life. When you click on various images they do or say certain things.
My Living Story classic stories include Princess & the Pea, King Midas, The Tortoise & the Hare, Little Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
I was given King Midas, The Tortoise and the Hare, and Little Red Riding Hood to test out.
My boys are ages 2 and 4 and sat the whole time for the 2 stories we did tonight. They fought over who got to press the arrow and touch the pictures. I’m glad I have these on my iphone. They will definitely come in handy when out and about or just hanging around the house. I have not recorded my voice yet, but it seems like it will be pretty easy to do.
The apps are $1.99 on iTunes, but 1 lucky Cha Ching Queen reader will win a $25 iTunes gift card.
- I am participating in the My Living Stories program by Mom Central on behalf of Decode Entertainment. I received 3 free apps and a gift card as a thank you for my participation.
